During the World Hydrogen Energy Conference WHEC 2016 held in Zaragoza on June 13th-16th, conference visitors could take advantage of joining the driving demonstrations, offered by Toyota and BMW, of their hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV). HYACInTH project was there to get feedback.
These emission-free cars can accelerate up to 170 kilometers per hour, are completely silent, and they have a range up to 600 kilometers before they need to refuel. Even then, filling up takes just three minutes.
One of the key elements to commercial deployment is to reduce the costs. Companies are working hard to get the cost down further.
